Valorant ranks are a competitive tier system that groups players by skill so matches feel fair. As you win and lose ranked games, your Rank Rating (RR) moves you up or down divisions.

How many ranks are there?

Valorant has 9 tiers:

Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Ascendant, Immortal, Radiant.

Every tier except Radiant has 3 divisions, which creates 25 total ranks.

What ranks usually feel like

  • Iron/Bronze: learning fundamentals and basic team play
  • Silver/Gold: mechanical consistency + early strategy
  • Platinum/Diamond: better punish game + role clarity
  • Ascendant/Immortal: high discipline, strong coordination
  • Radiant: top 500 per region (elite leaderboard tier)

What matters most for improvement

Regardless of rank, these are the highest ROI skills:

  • strong crosshair placement
  • timing and patience (not overpeeking)
  • clean comms and trading
  • utility that enables teammates, not just yourself
